Product Strategist (Future Founder-in-Residence)
At Corgi, we're rebuilding the $1T+ insurance industry from the ground up using AI. As the first fully automated insurance carrier, we’re not just launching products, we’re building a new foundation for insurance. Fast, lean, and future-proof.
Corgi (YC S24). We've raised $58M from top funds, recently closed our Series A, and received a nearly $200M valuation. We're the first venture backed startup to have a fully verticalized insurance carrier and are currently building out a strategic projects team.
We're looking for someone who thrives on research, loves complex challenges, and is ready to own outcomes. This role is for builders, operators, and analysts who want to launch something that lasts 100 years — and eventually run a company within a company.
What You’ll Do
-
Own the research and documentation process for launching new insurance lines
-
Draft regulatory filings and compile full policy packets, including rates, forms, and guidelines
-
Read and synthesize dense legal documents, regulatory code, and competitor filings
-
Collaborate with actuaries and legal teams to move from concept to submitted filings fast
-
Build repeatable systems and internal playbooks so future filings move faster
-
Operate without a to-do list — you’ll define your own process and be expected to drive it
-
Eventually own and operate a product line as a startup within Corgi
Who You Are
-
Detail-obsessed, operationally excellent, and outcome-driven
-
Energized by complex research and turning ambiguity into clarity
-
Comfortable navigating and synthesizing long legal or regulatory texts
-
A strong communicator with clear writing and documentation skills
-
Comfortable with ownership and autonomy — you do your best work without handholding
-
You’ve likely worked in operations, product, investing, legal, consulting, or as a chief of staff
-
Bonus: experience at a captive manager or working with insurance filings
Requirements
-
0–3 years in high-performance environments (e.g. ops, strategy, product, legal)
-
Experience with independent research and analytical writing
-
Familiarity with Excel or light scripting for organizing rate data
-
Ability to work extended hours during launch windows (e.g., 7-day sprints)
-
Deep interest in insurance, regulation, or product ownership
-
Must be based in or willing to relocate to SF for work trials and team collaboration
Why This Role Matters
This is not a job, it’s a launchpad. The person in this role will start by owning filings and research, but will quickly grow into owning full product lines, including hiring, launch, and operations. You’ll go from researcher to operator to founder-in-residence.
